Contemporary design meets shoreline intimacy

Our clients sought a contemporary house, under 3000 sq. ft. with a detached garage on a 40ft wide site looking west over Puget Sound. Filled with light and boasting shoreline intimacy, this house was conceived as two interlocking volumes detailed to provide transparency through the building, west to the water view and east to the garden court separating the house and garage. The soaring interiors comprise a two story volume in the living area that offers views into the space below and out to the Sound; and a three-story volume at the entry which opens to a third floor artist’s loft and views in all directions.
